      Spirituality
      The Incarnation

Sister “Marie de l’Incarnation” chose her name. It is in Jesus Christ that Madame Acarie recognizes both God, whom she adores, and the man Jesus-God, an example to be imitated in everything.

      The Eucharist

Madame Acarie is part of the movement of this great century which has seen, not without disputes and controversies, the development of frequent communion.

      The presence of God

Everything, every day, is for her the presence of God and life transformed in this presence, whatever the many human demands..

      The stigmata

This grace of identification with Suffering Christ is granted to some so that they “complete in their flesh what is lacking in the Passion of Christ for his Body which is the Church” (Col 1,24)

      Humility

Humility : “this is the shortest and most certain way to go to God” she said.

      Sacred Scripture

The relationship of Mary of the Incarnation to Sacred Scripture made her a mistress of spiritual life in the tradition of Reformed Carmel.

About…

Mrs Acarie

Barbe AVRILLOT, wife of Pierre ACARIE, born in Paris on February 1, 1566 and died in Pontoise, on April 18, 1618.

A woman in the world, married, 6 children, who heroically faced great trials , she is “the main initiator of Carmel in France”. Widow, she herself is called by God to become a converse sister : Sister Marie of the Incarnation, today Blessed.

In this woman of very good sense, the love of God is translated into the completed fulfillment of state duty. Joining to numerous natural gifts, an intense interior life, she knew how to simultaneously accomplish her duties towards God and the neighbor.

Madame Acarie is a model for us, men and women of today, whatever our state of life.

Madame Acarie is particularly prayed for for future births, and for the reception and protection of life in all circumstances.
